The Filter is responsible for removing particles from the water in your swimming pool.
There are several kinds of filters used for removing particles from the water in a swimming pool or spa.
Cartridge Filter – These filters use paper cartridges to filter the particles from water. They are cheaper but the cartridges must be replaced more often and they do not catch the tiny particles that DE and Sand Filters do.
Diatomaceous Earth (DE) Filter – These filters use grids which are covered with a very fine dust called Diatomaceous Earth or DE after each cleaning. Usually these filters are much more efficient and can be back-washed regularly to prevent too many cleanings. This is the preferred filter type for a home pool.
Sand Filter – These filters are large and use sand to filter small particles out of the water. They are usually used for large industrial and commercial swimming pools. All of these types of filter require regular maintenance in addition to the regular cleanings that usually occur at least once a week. Typically if your pool is using the right size of filter and only gets normal use for a home, you will only have to have the filter cleaned 2-3 times a year. This is usually an additional charge. Sometimes the filter will need to get cleaned more often if it is too small for your pool or you use your pool more than normal.
If you have problems with the maintenance of your filter call us and we will come out and do it for you! We can also come out and show you how to maintain your own filter for a one time fee!
Often the grids and cartridges for filters need to be replaced. If your filter isn’t cleaned regularly you are going to need to get parts replaced more often. Seals and back-washes are also parts the often need repair or replacement. Cool Pool Guys can take care of all of these problems. Just give us a call.
If you need new equipment or want to upgrade your filter we can do the job for you minus the excessive cost. We will get you a filter under the cost of most stores in the area and install it for a reasonable price. Call us for a fee at home no obligation estimate!
What does the filter do for my swimming pool ?
The Filter is part of your Swimming Pool filtration system. The most important thing you need to do every day is circulate the water through a filter. This makes the water move and very hard for algae to grow. Particles are collected in the filter and later removed during cleaning. This is what keeps your water clear. Even balanced water can be cloudy and dirty without a well running filter!
